Main Objectives

Assessing the growth performance and nutritional potentials of new food crop in Rwanda; the species reported to have successful results in reducing problem of malnutrition and other Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) because of its high nutritional values.

Specific Objectives

To assess and plan the growth performance and productivity of Linum usitatissimum L. and Okro Abelmoschus esculentus in various agro-ecological zones of Rwanda;
To improve health and welfare of trained farmers in the growing of Flaxseeds and Okra
To distribute to Flaxseeds and Okra farmers, quality seeds grains for cultivation and selling;
To market affordable value-added products available for vulnerable and affected people at national and regional level (East African Community region, Democratic Republic of Congo, etc);
To certify and protect our products at national and international level;
To create jobs and reduce poverty in the community through the whole value chain of Linum usitatissimum L. and Okro Abelmoschus esculentus
